"I am seeking reelection because of my interest to serve my community in a meaningful way. I feel Wallingford has given much to my family and I always felt a need to give back. In my role on the Board of Education I can continue to use my experience in education to assist the children in Wallingford to succeed academically and socially. Education has been a very important part of my life for almost 50 years and I always look forward in using my experience in education for the benefit of all Wallingford children."
Mike Votto was first appointed to the Wallingford Board of Education in 1999 to fill a vacated position; 22 ½ years later, he’s now the longest serving elected official outside of Vinnie Testa. Mike was a teacher in North Branford for 36 years and an administrator in New Haven for a decade, in addition to teaching in Madison and at Choate Rosemary Hall, where he worked for 15 years as a teacher and in their summer school program. During his time on the Board of Education, Mike has fought tirelessly for funding at every step of the way. Particularly when it comes to funding our special needs programs, there is no one who has fought harder than Mike Votto. Mike understands the benefits of the most recent trends and nuances in education, while also holding invaluable experience in traditional techniques, and educational strategies, and his wealth of knowledge will be invaluable to the rest of our slate. We are excited to endorse Mike Votto for another term on the Board of Education and we hope you will join us in supporting him on November 4th!
