"In my 2 years on the Town Council, I have been willing to accept political risk to ensure the schools are adequately funded—even via tax increases. I demonstrated strong concern over deferred capital maintenance, especially in our schools. I have also shown resistance to across-the-board cuts, emphasizing that education funding is critical and difficult to eliminate without consequences."
Seeking his second term on the Town Council, Jesse Reynolds has lived in Wallingford for most of his life, attending Wallingford public schools before raising his own family here with his wife. Jesse has a masters degree in Research Statistics and Measurement and since 2002 has worked as a part of various research teams at Yale University, where he currently serves as the Assistant Director of Applied Biostatistics at the Yale Center for Clinical Investigation. In addition to overseeing the compliance of clinical research at Yale with respect to research transparency and mandatory reporting of study findings to the federal government, Jesse is also a co-author of more than 20 research articles published in peer-reviewed journals. In the community, Jesse has served on the boards of Wallingford Youth Soccer League (now Wallingford Soccer Club) and the Wallingford Public Library, while also helping support his 2 sons' Cub Scout Pack (Pack 28!) and Boy Scout Troop (Troop 1!). Jesse has also been a stalwart for local Democratic candidates, volunteering endless time and energy to many campaigns over the past 16 years. Jesse has brought a thoughtful, measured, and consistent voice to the Town Council over the past 2 years, and we’re confident that he will continue to help steer Wallingford toward a more prosperous and rewarding future. We are ecstatic to endorse Jesse Reynolds for another term on the Town Council and we hope you will join us in voting for him on November 4th!
I have been a permanent resident of Wallingford since 2000- having grown up in both Meriden and Wallingford prior. I am a 51 year old (52 in September), married, father of 2 sons and my children ages 18 and 23 have been educated in Wallingford Public Schools.
I have a masters degree in Research Statistics and Measurement and have worked as a part of various Yale University research teams since 2002. I am the Assistant Director of Applied Biostatistics at the Yale Center for Clinical Investigation. A part of my role is overseeing the compliance of clinical research at Yale with respect to research transparency and mandatory reporting of study findings to the federal government via entities such as the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the National Institutes of Health. I am a published co-author of more than 20 research articles published in peer-reviewed journals.
My volunteer experience in Wallingford includes formal positions on the boards of Wallingford Youth Soccer League (now Wallingford Soccer Club) and the Wallingford Public Library. I have also been involved with my both sons' Cub Scout Packs (Pack 28!) and Boy Scout Troops (Troop 1!). In addition, I have volunteered for many Democratic candidates over the last 16 years.
I will continue to bring a measured and consistent voice to the Town Council that can continue to help steer Wallingford into a more prosperous and rewarding future.
I want to thank the Wallingford Democratic Town Committee for *again* endorsing me to run for Town Council on the Democratic ticket. My first term on the Town Council has proved rewarding and I think that I have demonstrated a strong work ethic, always came prepared with a strong commitment to and respect for the role.
