"I grew up in Wallingford, graduating from Sheehan High School. My husband, Bob, and I raised our four children in Wallingford. They all attended the public school system… In addition to being an educator my whole career, I have a variety of experiences to draw from, based on my children attending three different high schools. Being a Board of Education member has been very fulfilling for me—I am passionate about educating children and I believe that there are many paths young adults can take after graduating."
Maureen Reed is seeking reelection to the Board of Education, serving on the BOE since November of 2022. Maureen has spent most of her life in Wallingford, graduating from Sheehan High School. She and her husband, Bob, also raised four children in town who all attended the public school system (Wilcox High School, Sheehan and the AgEd program at Lyman Hall). Maureen has worked in education for nearly three decades, currently serving as Assistant Principal at Cheshire High School. Having worked with students and parents and educators for over 25 years, Maureen has extensive experience to draw from. In addition to being part of curriculum review and implementation, she has also taught graduate level courses (which gives her a full picture of education into post secondary demands and requirements). Maureen has been a steady and experienced voice on our Board of Education, and she has fought consistently to make our schools stronger. We are excited to endorse Maureen Reed for another term on the BOE and we hope you will join us in voting for her on November 4th!
