"I feel as though this town is stuck in the past and it’s causing people in my age group (and younger) to consider other places to start their families. Noticing the downtrend in educational funding and school quality leads me to believe this trend will continue because it does not seem that the town cares much about bringing NEW people here."

Bio

Dr. Kyler Allen is a Clinical Neuropsychologist and community advocate who moved to Wallingford in 2022. Born in New Hampton, IA and raised in Prairie du Chien, WI, Kyler settled down in Connecticut with his wife (a Nutmeg State native) after stops in Chicago, Nebraska, and Springfield, MA. Since moving to Wallingford, Kyler has been active in a slew of volunteer roles, notably serving as a member of the Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Dementias (ADRD) Coalition since 2024 and a committee member of the Social Justice Speaker Series (SJSS) since 2023. Kyler is also passionate about renters' rights and affordable housing, and he hopes to get involved with Wallingford’s Fair Rent Commission in the near future to help organize tenants. The WDTC is thrilled to endorse Dr. Kyler Allen and we hope you will join us in supporting him on November 4th!
