"To best position ourselves for the long term, targeted growth in our Grand List is critical… I think we need to go back to our Plan of Development with the P and Z and EDC and create a plan that identifies industries and/or businesses that would complement what we already have and create something like a brand or culture that will attract commercial taxpayers, similar to what was done 40 years ago in developing the industrial parks. All else flows from this. We also need to promote affordable senior housing opportunities to open up more housing for younger families. The downtown Transit District needs to be maximized."
Vinnie Testa seeking reelection for his 11th term on the Town Council, currently serving as Wallingford’s longest tenured elected official. A lifelong Wallingford resident, Vinnie has spent more than 30 years serving on the Board of Education, Town Council, and various other leadership roles within the community. Vinnie has a deep understanding of the issues facing our community and has long been adept at developing solutions and forging agreements among his colleagues, even as the Democrats have been outnumbered historically. Vinnie continually fights to maintain critical services and improve our infrastructure through responsible planning and budgeting, and he always does his best to be careful with our reserves while avoiding large tax increases. Vinnie has been a constant supporter of our school system, and he has also been vocal about the need to encourage more economic development by building the Grand List tax base and seeking more state and federal grants to complete needed infrastructure upgrades. We couldn’t be more excited to endorse Vinnie Testa for another term on the Town Council and we hope you will join us in voting for him on November 4th!
